I'm working here in UAE and i'm planning to apply for a temporary workers visa for Canada. Is it really required for me to have a proof of sufficient fund? Some people says "theres no need" and others say "you have to got one". I'm quite confused as to what i really have to do.

  1. Most countries require PROOF of you ability to support yourself in their country in the event you can't WORK there.

It can run anywhere from a PROOF of an independent monthly income of $500 to over $2500 and they DO MEAN PROOF... you can't just show them you bank statement... you need to have PROOF from your bank or broker or other financial house you deal with.

  2. i would recommend showing proof of being able to support yourself.  because if you do not show sufficent monies they may think you are trying to come here on your visa and not leave.  the more information you provide the better.

  3. Yes, if you have spent any time looking over the application that you are required to fill out in order to get a work visa in Canada you would know this is true.  One section of the application is called "proof of sufficient funds."

All you have to do is fill out the application and provide the documentation that it asks you for.  Nothing more, nothing less.

Skilled workers and professionals: Who can apply—Proof of funds

The Government of Canada does not provide financial support to new skilled worker immigrants.

You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your dependants after you arrive in Canada. You cannot borrow this money from another person. You must be able to use this money to support the costs of living for your family.

You will need to provide proof of your funds to the Canadian visa office in your home country when you submit your application for immigration.

The amount of money you need to support your family is determined by the size of your family. These amounts are updated every year.

  4. Friend,

    - It is better to show the available fund.

    - You can show your bank statement.

    - You can also get a letter from your employer stating, you are working with them from ... and you are being paid every month.

    - This will make it more easy.

    All the best
