Is it really safe to sit on a green box ?--- mini tranformer ?

cause me and my friend were sitting on a green box or a transformer as smarter people call it and a lady came out of her house and told ur not to sit on a green box cause its not good for our health... then we sat on the pavement and she like brought us out pillows so our buts don't get dirty,,,

is she just over protective or should we really not sit in transformers

There is no problem sitting there, she is a bit batty.

due to emi i would not sit on a transformer. this practice has been tested and found to possibly cause some forms of cancer.also if the transformer is near capacity it could explode with an enormus bang.
