    Interesting... do you eat the carrots, or what?

    Be careful of eating too many. The carotene makes your skin go orange, and you can get vitamin-A poisoning.

    It helps with night vision, though.

    I think someone is wanting you to eat your carrots. You know broccoli has the same effect, don't you.


  2. If they did, it would be the biggest Cash Crop there was in existance.  However, the fact that other vegetables are just as popular says they don't help : ((

    The color is added by Carotene, which is the same thing that makes yellow/orange/red leaves in the fall.

    Also, to see well in the dim or dark light, your eyes need Visual Purple, which comes through vitamin A.

    P.S.  I only know of one person to die from Vitamin A poisoning.  He had to take over 1,000,000 units of vitamin a.  Then he turned bright orange and died.  His Liver was over-whelmed by the massive amount and caused liver failure.
