  1. It's possible, but a bit far to commute for my liking. It takes a while on the trains and is a bit pricey. If you work the weekends it can be a complete pain in the backside as the trains are always delayed/substituted by buses due to engineering works. I grew up in Gravesend (a 50 min train ride from London) and for the first 4 years of my RAF life I used the trains to travel home. The engineering works always put a damper on my Sunday as I had to leave so early to get back to my base.

Plus, commuting on the train is always very crowded. The "sardine" effect is not a pleasant experience.

Still, it is better for the environment.

  2. Expensive on the train and takes a while.

I drive up the A2 to Falconwood and get the train from there. It's quicker and cheaper.

  3. in 8 years!...travelling from chatham to greenwich by car(A2) i was only late for work twice!...it averaged 45 minutes to cover the 26 miles...but you have to leave allowing 45mins for accidents etc...so i left at 6am to get to work at 7.30am...and i normally got there at 7ish...and that was while they were building the eurostar line...trains are a waste of time!...too many roof colapses in the old victorian tunnels etc...and commuter coaches dont stop at convenient places...good luck

  4. Depends whether you do anything of interest on the journey.(Like read)
