Ive keep reading here about how people are getting interviewed many times for the same job before getting hired even for jobs like cashiers.

Am i correct in saying that it was much easier to get a job a couple of years ago. I don't remember ever being interviewed more then once for a cashier job or something of that nature.

  1. Yes, the job market is really tight and employers have a vast pool of applicants from which to chose.  It's a true bummer.

  2. Yeah, I am looking for a job at the moment and it isn't easy.

  3. Yes it was easier.  Consider that from January 2007 to January 2008, the number of job openings fell 10 percent, while unemployment increased, so you had more people competing for fewer jobs.  In that situation, employers can be more choosy in trying to decide who to hire.

  4. Depending on your area, it may be hard to find a job. Do you live in a large city/town?

Take into consideration age, s*x, population, education, economy, location. You may be too young to do one job or not have enough educational background (ie high school diploma)

    Keep looking, dont give up!

  5. Are you completely oblivious to the declining economy?  OF COURSE it is harder to find a job today than it was a couple years ago!  That's because idiots voted for President Bush not once, but TWICE and the war that he has failed to pull us out of has done nothing to stimulate our economy.  Less money = Less jobs.  This is why it is SO important that people vote in the upcoming election!!  (Unless they voted for Bush--then they should just kill themselves.)
