Is it really true that...?

...there's a "stigma against disability in Chinese culture"? I took that quote from a newspaper article. If it is really true--and truly real--then does anyone have any ideas why or any other opinions?

Please don't misunderstand me as being discriminatory. I'm Chinese myself, but I'm rather sheltered and have a lot of questions about why people would be so...narrow-minded.

  1. It means that the Chinese people don't like disabled people. They went to great lengths to hide them during the olympics. They want the world to see them as a perfect nation.

They don't even like people who aren't attractive...remember the whole fake singer issue? The poor little girl who was singing was hidden, while a "cute" girl was lip-syncing.
