  1. It varies:

    It's not reasonable to expect empathy from a sociopath, or someone with autism spectrum disorder because they can not feel empathy.

    But in the most part yes it is reasonable.


  2. I don' think its reasonable to expect empathy from anyone - Nice when you get it - But not something to be expected.

    I can see its hard  going for most people becasue it often involves hurt and thinking about things you dont want to think about.

    I have a big capacity for empathy - antennae always on receiving mode- and haven't found the off switch   it creates a huge sensitivity that makes life quite difficult.

    if you mean soemthing like seeing that 'rich' people have great life problems too - I think most of us accept and understand that  and can find a way to relate to it.

  3. Is it reasonable to expect empathy from the ultra rich?  I guess it is a matter of what the empathy is directed at.
