  1. The world doesn't stop because it is storming out. I have zero tolerance for people who think it does. I fired the last person here who stopped working because it was storming out. If you were my employee and stopped working because of a storm I would fire you.

  2. Yes it is reasonable.  Why would it be dangerous?  Everything is on a surge protector first of all.  Just because it is raining outside doesn't mean everyone should just stop being productive!!!  I've never heard of anything so silly!!!

  3. no, in Florida we should basically have summers off!!! lol

  4. Yes it is reasonable.  The building is grounded and the worst thing that could happen is the computers themselves would 'fry' (unlikely but we'll assume worst case scenario of a faulty surge protector), it is the machine and no you that would be damaged, the lightening itself isn't going to be traveling through the lines and frying all of the people, if that were the case then just touching metal would be dangerous in a storm.

Relax, the world doesn't end (nor does work) just because of a storm...but hey, if you can convince MY boss....;)

  5. it is reasonable to expect you to keep working.  but as an employer i would keep informed of the severity of the storm.  i have had to evacuate staff due to tornados before.
