I'm a rising junior and wants to get into Pepperdine University. Do they require a high score in SAT or do they focus more on ACT?

  1. The site says "We do not have a minimum GPA or SAT/ACT score required for applicants. Our admitted student class has an average GPA of 3.8, an average ACT score of 28, and an average SAT score of 1290 for the critical reading and math sections.  On the 2400 SAT scale, which includes the math, critical reading, and writing sections, the average score falls between 1930 to 1950.... We require the SAT 1 and ACT. SAT Subject Tests are not mandatory.

It seems like it doesn't matter either way. And even if you don't reach a 1950, thats only the middle range and half of their student's score below it. Also, I'm sure that they place a lot of importance on GPA, recommendations, and your essay too. And if your great at talking to people, maybe you should consider an interview.

It can't hurt to take an SAT Prep Course but it depends. Are the type of person who is better at studying independently or do you need a teacher's help? Either way, you should definitely get an SAT book tostudy the material that will be on the test. Than take as many practice tests as you can. Also, don't forget to take the PSATs in October. It can help you figure out where you stand and what you need to improve on.
