  1. In fine that what they do in the wild!

but if you what them to stop get dad man hood removed or wait female stop having litter a good time before they died

I breed gerbil all you have to do is make sure that they are getting the right food and have lots of water

It dosen't short there life! if what they do in the wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  2. Rodents can have litters one right after the other. As soon as one litter is born, they'll mate again, and delay "implantation" until the current litter is weaned. The gestation is so short, it's perfectly feasible for litters to be born every 6 weeks.

How do you think rats and mice can overrun your house if you don't get rid of them (I'm not talking about the pet variety).

  3. NO!!!! Obviously you have a male and female. The pet store must've sexed them wrong. Having babies will shorten their lifespan greatly. Separate them.

  4. this is not normal separeate them from each other. if the mamma has too many babies she could have a shorter lifespan.

  5. obviously because you have at least on male and female in the same cage. you should have separated them long ago.

having babies is stressful for the female, especially having so many litters. what you are doing is wrong, so separate them immediately and get them a friend who is of the same gender.

  6. That is disgusting. Separate them right now, that is so not fair to the female. Poor thing... why the heck do you have a male and a female together? Gerbils should have SAME s*x friends because of how social they are, not opposite s*x ones.

Rodents will breed frequently, yes, as you've discovered. So stop it and separate them.

  7. Breeding repeatedly litter after litter without a break really takes a toll on the mother. You're really shortening her life span by letting her breed. Gerbils can get pregnant pretty much right after they give birth to a litter. The gestation period is around 24 days.

Unless you're breeding responsibly, and actually want the pups, please separate mom and dad. Then, pair them up with a same s*x pup and find the rest good homes.

  8. That's cute.

  9. I agree with the first reply that you must have a male and female in the same cage.  The mama will be worn out from giving birth so often....it's hard on her little body.  Best to get another cage....or keep one of the female babies and give the male away with the other babies....

  10. i dont think so........
