Is it required to take a swimming test in Stuyvesant High School? (for freshmens)?

I've been thinking about going to Stuyvesant High School. But I heard that freshmens take swimming test. I was wondering if it is mandatory to take the swimming test. If so, I need to get ready for it!

Swimming is part of the freshman PE curriculum, so I wouldn't be surprised if they tested you at the start of the class --  to determine if they need to TEACH you to swim. I'd also expect that you'll need to take a swimming test in order to pass the PE class. I don't think that means that you have to pass a swimming test prior to taking the class, though.

If I were you, I'd concentrate on spelling and grammar as well.
