  1. What are you asking?  It appears your question was truncated.

    My assumption:  you are building your system to be in compliance with NFPA 13 (2007 Edition).  

    If your building is in an area subject to earthquakes (as determined by the Building Code or Authority Having Jurisdiction - AHJ) then you will need to comply with Section 9.3.2 of NFPA 13.  You will need flexible couplings within 24" of the top and bottom of the riser unless (A) in risers less than 3ft in length no flexible couplings are needed or (B) in risers 3ft to 7ft in length, one flexible coupling is adequate.

    By no means does the above completely cover the requirements of earthquake protection of fire sprinkler systems.  There are many other factors, including (but not limited to) clearances, bracing, restraint, and additional requirements for piping hangers.

    I highly suggest you consult a licensed professional engineer (PE) who specializes in Fire Protection Engineering.
