Is it resonable to pay $498 for rent and more that there are 2 familes in a multiple home?

If the place is full of (I'm assuming you mean 'cockroaches') you should move out or demand that the landlord fumigate for you and pay for that  or you will sue.

Otherwise it depends on the area your home is in. If its a nice rural area with a big yard and lots of land, be grateful because our two family home each pay $525 a month.

If you live in an apartment near the city, an average 3 bedroom home goes for about $450 a month.

Seeing that you are paying that much, and have such poor living conditions, and aren't getting any breaks on utilities, maybe you should consider moving.
