Question:

Is it ridiculous to put a value of one half game on pre-season games towards the regular season?

I'm just thinking out loud. It would make every game much more meaningful. Would the players like or hate this since they're pay doesn't kick in until the season opener?

    If they did that, then teams would have to schedule pre-pre-season scrimmage games that don't count, in order to get their game plans in order and test out the new guys.  Then, 50 years down the line, someone will write in and ask whether the pre-pre-season scrimmage games should count 1/4 of a win.

    Then, in 100 years, someone will ask whether the pre-pre-pre season scrimmage practice games should count 1/8 of a game.

    Eventually, each season will last 2 years, and only 16 of the 104 games will count a full game.
