  1. Michael O'Leary the chief executive of Ryanair does the same thing - doesn't provide food or drinks for any meetings (refuses point blank in fact  - a mate of mine worked pr for him ) and he 's not Muslim - just a tight b*stard.

Put in perspective, if it's his party, well, he calls the shots - cuts down the costs.

Total ban or non provision ? so the council members could walk out and buy a coffee and sandwich from the local cafe during break time - am I right ?

  2. No it is against the law for anyone to force there religious beliefs on others

  3. Storm in a teacup.

I´ve been with Muslims during Ramadan and never , ever did anyone try to stop non-muslims eating.

    A hyped up non-story I´ll bet.

  4. no

if only muslim members are attending and they agree that is their choice

but if i had to attend a meeting i would want to be allowed to have a drink and snack if i wanted one

perhaps they shouldn't be attending meetings during ramadan - their thinking may well be impaired from lack of nutrition

d**n cheek to impose their religious observance on others

  5. As I understand it is a 'request to refrain' not a ban. If I worked with or was a colleague of a muslim I would at least be sensitive to the issue as we live in a multicultural, multi-ethnic and multi-religious society.

  6. "...strict Islamic fasting during September no matter what their faith."

"No matter what their faith"   ??????

    LOLOLOL  ---- no commnet !

  7. No it d**n well isn't. I have written to Tower Hamlets Council to register my thoughts and will be backing the Lib Dem councillor all the way. These people need to be reminded that they are in England and England does not have Ramadan. This behaviour leads to nothing but resentment and is very dangerous for the Muslim immigrants to the UK. I work for an Iranian company and no one would ever suggest fasting in our office as a rule, or not eating in front of fasting Muslims. Sheer arrogance.

  8. no this is GB

  9. can i just say sweety

that am a muslim and i dont expect other people not to eat because am fasting.

its not fair on them. why should my religion stop them from doing and eating what they want.

i think its really silly how people can bring these sort of things up in a non muslim country.

its starnge, because country's like dubai, oman, egpyt they all fasting, yet they are constantly serving tourist with food, drink throughout the ramadan.

if they were really strict about other people eating near them while they are fasting, then they would stop tourist coming into their country during ramadan season.

these people who demand that their should be no food in meetings are so stupid, and have no self control. the fasting should not be put off by other people eating. yeh sometimes it maybe hard, but you have to have faith in your religion and be strong, and not to let it get to you the fact you cant eat and everyone else can.

i dont mind people eating near me. i just ignore them. i dont stare what they are eating etc.

atrocious, and am going to have to stick up for my colleagues their unfortunatley

  10. Is this the same council that more or less banned Christmas for fear of offending Muslims?

So this year we  can expect to see all non Christians in the area carol singing, putting up Christmas trees and sending out cards with pictures of wise men, angels and a baby in a manger in order not to offend Christians?

If Christians have to follow Muslim customs in a Christian country then it's only fair that the Muslims should be following Christian customs too.

  11. Sure.

    Why not?

Decode this lyrics " Self control"

Only for tribe of own community in practising "fasting".

Not on tribe of other community.

As tradition and custom of own community.

    Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49

    What do you think?

  12. As long as they eat Hot Cross Buns at Easter. LoL!

  13. Would they keep a joyful fast for Christmas???

  14. nope. im not a muslim, so i will eat what i d**n well want. they can leave the room while i eat if it offends them, but its not my fault they're fasting!

  15. No. I spent 6 weeks in Oman once and part of it was during Ramadan. We were not expected to fast during daylight hours and we were fed and watered as normal. If that is how they can treat us in their country, respecting the fact that we were not Muslim in a Muslim land, then the same should thing should apply here. Muslim council chiefs should respect those who aren't of their faith and should not force them to take part in something which they do not believe in.

  16. h**l no! If those ****** want to starve themselves thats there buisness but they have absolutely no right to force their backward beliefs and customs on their host country.

Another answerer on a different question said it best. The immigrants are guests in another mans house and should act and behave accordingly.
