Exxon Mobil Corp. reported second-quarter earnings of $11.68 billion Thursday, the biggest quarterly profit ever by any U.S. corporation. Does anyone think there's something "wrong" with this?

  1. "There is no calamity greater than lavish desires.

There is no greater guilt than discontentment.

And there is no greater disaster than greed."

  2. Wow, you got that right!

Western style Capitalism REALLY does not work.

Yeah, it's what makes the United States (and much of the world) functional, but there really IS something wrong when Exxon/Mobil can make record profits selling a commodity at a time when the commodity costs consumers the most it ever has.

  3. Absolutely. I do not support Exxon Mobil one iota. Never again will I gas up at one of their stations, and I highly advise everyone who reads this to do the same.

We have the power to change this crime. It's our duty to take action.

  4. Im sorry but yes it is right.

This is America. We are a capitalist nation. Making money is the name of the game.  What if someone who made much less than you came foward and said it wasnt fair that you wer making so much more than them? Say for instance if you are a supervisor at work, and the janitor said you shouldnt make as much. Would you say ok and go along with that?

There is nothing stopping you or i from cashing in on it, if we were smart we would be buying stock in Exxon or one of the other oil companies. Would that make me bad if i did that?
