i work at subway and the owners say since im nt 18 i can only make 7.25 but really i make 7.50 so they say i make over minimum wage it this fair. or even right??

what? do you make 7.25 or 7.50 and what is minimum wage in your state?

despite age, they must pay you over minimum wage which is why it's called MINIMUM wage, it's the minimum you can be paid.

Your state might have stricter rules.  You don't say what state you are in.  

I don't understand your question when you say that they say you can only make 7.25 but you really make 7.50.

Got some bad news.  7.75 is for employees 18 or older.  The least amount they have to pay you is .50 less so that would be 7.25.

If you're a student, you  should be making 8.20/hr, that's minimum wage.

For anyone over 18, the minimum wage is 8.75/hr.

But I do know some friends who are making below minimum, which kinda sucks since it's "illegal".

The wages also depend on where you're working, demographically.

well where i live in michigan EVERYONE 16 and over gets min wage at least. where do you live? that could make the difference.
