  1. Of course, it is the right time to invest in banking amongst other sectors and industry groups.

We expect that as an investor you realize that you would have to manage the positions you develop during this current down move in the stock market.  You also realize that you would have to wait into the future for the gains you expect from the positions you have or would be developing during this period of time.  Further, that you have your investment system with all its checks and balances in place.

  2. Banks are Rate sensitive sectors.  The Govt and RBI is taking a lot of steps to curb the inflation.  With these interest related steps, the Banks are the primary organizations to be hit.

It is out of this very fact, that the stocks of all the banks have fallen so much recently.

So until the policies are clear and become stable, it is better not to venture in banks now.  But some market leaders like SBI, ICICI and HDFC can be considered for investing on major dips from these levels.

  3. INVEST in Top 8 Scrips in 2008 when the Indian Stock Markets fall in July 14, 2008 (BSE Sensex support: 12,868.28 (+/- 0.1% variable) / NSE S&P CNX Nifty support: 3,821.00 (+/- 0.1% variable)):

Reliance Industries (RELIANCE), Infosys Technologies (INFOSYSTCH), ICICI Bank (ICICIBANK), Larsen & Toubro (LT), Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), Bharti Airtel (BHARTIARTL), Tata Steel (TATASTEEL) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).

INVEST 16% in First Scrip, 15% in Second Scrip, 14% in Third Scrip and so on of your total fund or

INVEST 12% in each scrip of your total fund.

  4. Answer is yes and no, depending on time horizon,   due to inflation interest will move upward in near future which means banks will take hit on the bottom line, hence not immediate upside. But you are looking at long term more than year or so,  then banks are best bet as quite few of them are trading really cheap

  5. yes u can invest in any bank, its the best time u can invest your money now

  6. in accordance with inflation and rising interest rates and sub-prime and other losses alongwith hike in CRR also bought clouds on bankings.....

So, its better 2 stay away from banking at this period of time and save ur money........

In future , if inflation rates comes under control alongwith crude and dollar value .....banks can then head upwards.....

    but not now...
