Is it right to do this after every convention...?

I've been following the election this year pretty closely

I saw that at the end of every convention night so far there has been someone saying a Christian prayer.

Is it respectful to others who are not christian that plan to vote?

and

in a country where freedom of religion exists?

  1. It is right.  The US has an amendment of Freedom OF Religion, Not Freedom FROM Religion.

  2. prayer has been a part of government since the revolutionary war

  3. Most people in this country identify with some sect of Christianity. Its not a big risk.  Besides, the conventions are run by private entities not the government.

Presumably people are free to stay home or refrain from taking part in any prayer.
