  1. Here in Mexico most roads in the towns ARE made of cement ,but it is very expensive and slow work

  2. While cement doesn't contain the petroleum products that asphalt/tar do, it still carries an environmental impact.  Concrete is made from resources that have to be mined/extracted and roads still cut through and damage natural habitats.

  3. sure it is. rocks& petroleum seeping back into the earth where they came from in the first place..hmm,what a concept!..let me put it this way..I grew up in the country where the dirt roads were rocked and oiled each summer....right now, they're repairing the Interstates(concrete road) around here l0-1 compared to the rock and oiled ones that are only getting better as time goes on. And I test my well water once every l8 months--it fine! If your city water facility can't do any better than my well...you need to move!!!

  4. it used to be cheaper to make an asphalt road. But Cement is now cheaper and far more environmentally friendly.

The big killer with tar roads...radiant heat...im sure you seen the heat waves coming up from the surface.

  5. Costs more & lasts longer. Uinion thing in the USA.

  6. It comes down to a question of cost. Tar and rocks are cheaper than cement.
