  1. being the grandma of a 24 week preemie who survived with only additional oxygen( nasal canula , not tubed.)  needed i think that they are quite correct in wanting to lower the legal limit  perhaps not as far as 12 weeks but lower then the 24 weeks that it is now because at the time of that "rule" a 24 week fetus wasnt considered a viable fetus - capable of sustaining life without major medical intervention and probable mulitple disabilities.


  2. They voted to keep it the same at 24 weeks.

    A mistake, IMO. Although virtually none are carried out in the UK after 3 months anyway, as you wouldn't find an obstetrician to do it unless there were some serious medical issues involved.

    I'm going with up to 12 weeks on demand, up to 22 with serious infant health defects on the cards. After that, they can survive with asistance. It's too late.
