Going to be honest and need truthful answers.

Ok am 179 pounds and wear a size .......18.

I used to be 300 and something...well more of 344 pounds but lost it all to 119 pounds but got back big ever since I ate at checkers.

Now hear me out ok?

Have any of you noticed how Checkers never have their food items of calories, fat and so on labeled? So how was I suppose to know when to stop and how many calories did I eat.

Who is in the wrong?

Me, a innocent customer.

Or Checkers, no calories or fat intake people who cares nothing only my money.

  1. Only if they held a gun to you and forced you to eat their food.  Otherwise, no, we are all responsible for what we put in our bodies.  If they don't list fat and calories then you have the option not to eat it.  Anyone over the age of 7 knows that greasy fries and hamburgers with cheese and bacon are high in calories and fat and when eaten regularly will cause weight gain.

  2. I do not even know if it is possible or not to go from 344 to 119 healthily (unless we're talking over many years of hard work).

Furthermore, almost all suits of this kind are almost immediately rejected. When you realize you started putting on a little weight while eating there, that should have been the sign to stop. Because, again with the possibly exaggerated numbers, 119 to 179 is a little much to not realize sooner.

Fast food chains are required (in my state at least, i do not know about most of the country) to have available their full nutritional guides. Some places make it harder to find these, but if you ask for one, you will be given one.

So, in short, it is your fault. Try eating a t home. If you do the math over how much you spend at Checkers over time, and the price you pay at the grocery store, you can actually eat for cheaper.

  3. If this is a fast food restaurant, then food is usually never given calorie values etc. Plus, sometimes food doesn't have to be given calorie values to know whether it is an unhealthy food or healthy food.

And if you are so fed up with this place, why are you still eating there?

Not meaning to be mean or anything, but you should know that fast-food restaurants are always unhealthy places to eat.

  4. You lost 225 pounds? You shouldn't need to sue, you should write a book about how you did it and make millions.

  5. Great weight loss. But the numbers don't seem to add up, unless you are 5' or <  i.e. you said you were 179 and size 18???

But anyway - I agree with the other comments - there are too many choices for us in this country. You are not relegated to just one place to eat!!! Leave off the bread and fries! Eat salads for a month straight.

Many times places like McDonald's for example, their calorie info is online. I looked up Mickie D's and was both pleasantly surprised and shocked to see what was there.

PS -- read labels on all food products you buy. If sugar is with in the 1st five ingredients on the list --DON'T BUY IT!  You would be surprise to see how many things will be eliminated.

  6. You're the one who's wrong, not Checkers. Now, before I answer the rest, I want to make a note. I'm not trying to hate on you. I'm just giving my honest opinion. Okay, so:

You know that burgers and fries are fattening. Everyone knows that. You don't have to go to Checkers, you choose to. It's common sense that fast food is unhealthy and fattening. You're responsible for what you eat. Checkers can't force you to eat their food. You could easily pick up a salad with chicken somewhere at another fast food restaurant. You're responsible for your own food choices.

  7. With all due respect, anyone over the age of 11 should be able to make healthy food decisions without having it spelled out for them.

If you are young and have never been taught how to recognize healthy and unhealthy food you should take that up with your parents or your health teacher but it is no way Checkers responsibility to educate you.

If you are older than, say 13....well, at some point you have to take responsibility.

  8. all fast food is laden with fats and cals. it's always best to stay away from fast food. your right about the money part.

  9. Try cooking your own food.

  10. I think it's pretty common knowledge that hamburgers and french fries are unhealthy and loaded with fat.  You don't really need to know exactly how many calories are in that junk, because you shouldn't be eating it on a regular basis!

  11. Honest answer? You knew that wasn't good for you. You lost the weight once, do it again and stay away from anyplace that you can get food without having to get out of your car.

  12. My answer is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.   Anyone with a brain knows fast food is calorie and fat laden.

  13. Once again, we see women willingly embracing personal responsibility and accountability.

    You go girl

  14. If you couldn't tell how much you were consuming, why did you continue to go there, especially after you started to gain weight back?

  15. you're innocent only if they forced you inside their establishment then shoved their food down your throat.  Otherwise, it was your choice honey bunny.

  16. Checkers is not a healthy place to eat, and even though they usually have nutrition stuff on their websites their portions are monstrous.

The thing is, you don't have patronize Checkers. There a zillion other restaurants that have relatively healthy stuff on their menus (Chili's has a guiltless grill), and you don't have to choose the greasy stuff. You can eat at home where it's cheaper and not laden with lard. But it's your choice to eat there, so no - you got nothing. That would be like suing McDonald's because you got fat off of their fries.

  17. Congrats on the weight loss but checkers did not shove all those burgers and fries in your mouth. Most restaurants don't list the calories.

  18. its your fault not in any way shape or form theres

same with that Super Size Me documentary thing no where did it imply that all you should eat is McDonalds no where

    yea so its your fault

  19. It is WRONG to sue "checkers" or any other fast food restaurant.  It would be a completely frivolous lawsuit.  It has the word GREED written all over it.  EVERYONE knows fast food is bad for you, do you really need the calories labeled to know you shouldn't consume too many french fries and burgers?  It's time for society to take responsibility for their actions and deal with the consequences.  You have no one to blame but yourself for gaining 60lbs.  Now that you've caught the problem you should go back to doing what you did to lose the weight in the first place and STAY away from ALL fast food...it's not conducive to weight loss, nor is it a part of a healthy diet.

  20. Suits against fast food companies for causing weight gain and/or health problems are consistently turned down in the name of personal responsibility. I would advise against it.
