WASHINGTON, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- A strong majority of likely voters disagree with Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on firearms and self-defense related issues, according to a just-released ATI-News/Zogby poll.

In 2005, Senator Barack Obama voted in favor of legislation sponsored by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) that would have banned nearly all rifle ammunition used for hunting and sport shooting. This position puts Obama squarely at odds with over 75 percent of likely voters.

"This is just another example of how Obama's extreme position on basic Second Amendment freedoms runs counter to the beliefs of most Americans," said O'Leary.

  1. If the American people really knew Obama's positions and policies they'd run him out of town on a rail.

  2. There has to be some ways to reduce the big guns getting into the the hand of criminals in the cities without a universal amendment to the 2nd Amendment.

  3. My Republican friend William Haverford Smith, my real friend that I know in real life, and didn't make up just so I could illustrate some point, says that if your fundamental beliefs about life are not in line with his views, i.e.:

    1) the Christian way

    2) fighting evil and upholding good because there's only black and white and no gray

    3) pulling yourself by your own bootstraps because all that stuff about society and social conditions affecting you is bull. (Even though I care about what my friends and family say and what people think about me, I still believe society affects me very little. This makes sense right?)

Mr. Smith says that if you don't believe in these simple good things, what does that tell you about yourself as a human being? Everything I said, says Mr. Smith, are good things. People know right from wrong, good from evil. Wasn't everything I said good? So why should you disagree.

Again, this is my republican friend whom I didn't just make up to tell you what a typical republican thinks or anything like that.

  4. If that is true, then it doesn't seem to bother the majority who want him to be president...

  5. hmmm

  6. I would say that yes, that is a bit of a risk. If he is wise, he will take into account what the American people want. Our opinions do deserve consideration.

Most of his supporters seem to be focused on his "Robin Hood"-esque tax policies, though. They aren't interested in much else.

Don't confuse them with the facts! ;)

  7. I would have thought that more than 75% of Americans were against racism by now, but maybe I'm wrong.

  8. Sarah can show macho Obama how to handle a gun.

  9. If every issue was decided by a public poll, we wouldn't be a Republic, now would we?

  10. Excuse me? "According to Yahoo! Finance"

Why don't you get your head out of Palin's gape?

That is not a news story, it is a press release for an anti-obama book!

...from an anti-obama group that calls itself "Associated Television News"

This may have tipped you off "Brad O'Leary, president of ATI-News.com and author of the explosive new book, The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American Values, notes that..."

    http://www.ati-news.com

It's just a list of links to newspaper sites and then an advertisement for

Here's their own description, "ASSOCIATED TELEVISION NEWS: offering visitors real time links to hundreds of top-rated news sources from across the globe."

    Not even any television involved.

Obama wants to ban ammunition that "the Attorney General determines, pursuant to section 926(d)*, to be capable of penetrating body armor"

*refers to body armor that the Attorney General determines meets minimum standards for the protection of law enforcement officers

Maybe not the best way to go about saving cop's lives but then again it was Arturo Gonzales who said people didn't have the right to habeus corpus, not Obama.

And this was the question people were asked:

"Do you support or oppose legislation to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting?"

    You could have worded it

"Do you support or oppose legislation to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for killing police with bullet proof vests?"

    and gotten a different result

  11. Yes. but his sheep dont care they follow blindy.

  12. A prime example of Obama interpreting the Constitution his way.

  13. Yes, it is very risky.

Gun laws only affect law-abiding citizens?

  14. Yes! They also disagree on his economic socialistic ideas. So why are some folks falling all over a man who has accomplished nothing?  Do we really want to pay to make the government big and rich as in Soviet Russia?

Shame on the female, male chauvinists!  Palin is a decent, honest woman.  These people are the same kind who ran off Hillary.

    McCain/Palin '08!

  15. Yes.
