I have an appt for Friday, but am terrified that she won't do well for some reason. She also sleeps beside me and is used to jumping really high to get on my bed and that scares me.

  1. its not risky.  the only thing i would be worried about is her gaining weight.  almost every dog i've seen thats been fixed has gained a lot of weight.  as for the jumping, she's a tiny dog pick her up.

  2. No it is not risky...and why not take this to the veternary board rather than a board for HUMAN toddlers and preschoolers...a chihuahua is STILL a dog and not a human.

  3. No it is not risky... in fact it poses more of a risk to not have her fixed... the risk of cancer increases alot everytime you allow you dog to go into heat before getting her fixed.... as far as the jumping on the bed goes.... get her stairs.... they will come in handy for after the surgery and will have a long term benefit as well. The constant jumping is bad for her joints.
