  1. Why would it be?  Over the last 50 years of nuclear power, less than 100 people have been killed by nuclear accidents.

    You're safer in a nuclear power plant than you are in your own bathroom.


  2. Nope they have very strict safety procedures. Much riskier if you are behind a vehicle on the road carrying Nuclear material. The worst risk is the price of your home falling as people are  generally not good at assessing risk.

  3. I worked for 6.5 years at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, the plant itself never gave me cause for concern.

    If I recall correctly however the very 1st death in the Nuclear industry happen in Idaho so maybe it is risky there LOL

  4. Life is full of risks.  Most 'nukes' in the US (ID = Idaho?) are low-risk.  If otherwise, there would be more deaths or mutations by now.

  5. Yes.  Especially if there is a leak of some sort.  I know residents in southern California who were given anti radiation tablets at one time in case of terror attack to the plant.
