Is it rude for a girl to put makeup on in front of the guy she is dating?

Hi.

If a girl puts makeup on in front of the guy she is dating,

wouldn't that mean that the girl is not interested him?

I mean, even if the girl isn't dating the guy, wouldn't it still be rude

to put makeup on in front of him because it could mean that she

is ignoring him or she wants him to

totally lose interest in her?

it's not about you - she's just putting makeup on. you could say "do you have to do that here?"

it isn't rude so much as it is classless to do so.  It shows a lack of consideration for others. The best thing to do is ask someone she respects to talk to her about her less than desirable public behavior.

It sounds like you are trying to find something wrong with this girl, maybe try a little charity instead.

It's a commonly accepted social rule to always apply makeup in private-- or at least the bathroom.  Most guys would consider makeup application in front of him a turn-off... unless it's being done in a purposely enticing way.

Meh. I don't find it rude. And I definitely do not think it means she is ignoring him, or wants him to lose interest in her. I think you are reading too much into the situation. If anything, it might mean she feels comfortable around him, enough to let him see that she isn't "perfect". IMO of course.

it's just a way of saying

"hey look at what i have to put on my face in order for you to be interested in me!"

no, i don't think so...to me it just shows him that you're a bit concerned about your looks or you want  to look nice for him.

Now if your hanging out together and in the middle of doing something and you stop to put on makeup i think that's rude. But if your just getting ready to go somewhere putting on a bit of makeup real quick isn't rude.

I don't see how it could mean that she wants him to lose interest in her, i mean putting on makeup generally makes people "prettier" so if she is prettying herself up for a guy its generally to try and make him MORE interested.

It's rude for a girl to put makeup ANYWHERE on a guy she is dating.  It doesn't matter if it's the front, the back, whatever.

He may not be in to this type of role play.

To me it is about the same as just additional waiting time.  It doesn't matter to me if she puts it on in the bathroom of her house or in the car when we are driving someplace.

ALL grooming should be done in private.  First of all, preserve a little mystique.  While he's thinking you're naturally beautiful, why disabuse him of the notion.  Second, it's a big turn off to have someone start ignoring you in favor of staring at herself in the mirror.  It makes the girl seem really vain.    How would you feel if he pulled out a little hand mirror and begin to touch up his shave?

It depends on how long they've been going out.  On a first date, it would be considered rude.  After a year, however, it would be considered commonplace.  Lots of rules change as a relationship progesses.  Putting on makeup is just one of many.

Not only rude but stupid and counterproductive. Makeup is an artifice. To put it on is public is to destroy whatever illusion she intended to create. To be effective, makeup should be so minimal as to be hardly noticeable. If she draws attention to it, she defeats the purpose.

Now imagine another girl so confident in her youth and inner beauty that she knows she doesn't need any makeup at all, and thus doesn't always have to be worrying about whether her mask has rubbed off yet. Which one is more attractive?
