Question:

Is it rude for a neighbor to ask for money for traps they set up for skunks?

We've been having skunk problems in our neighborhood and I've contacted a service to set up traps in my yard. They have not been able to capture a skunk yet. Yesterday a neighbor around the corner from me posted flyers to everyone saying they set traps and caught 3 skunks therefore they are all gone. They are asking for donations towards the cost of the traps. Meanwhile I still have a problem with skunks in my yard. I guess I feel this was forward of them as I have not asked for money and wouldn't expect any of my neighbors to pay for my traps either. Is it just me to feel bothered by their request?

  1. They are just asking for a donation.  It may take a while to get rid of them all and it may be expensive for them. You should all work together. Sounds like a serios problem.  lol.

  2. I think it is a little bold, being that the community did not decide in a meeting that they would buy the traps.  I would just not respond to it.  If asked personally, just let them know you are still having problems and prefer to use a service to remedy the problem.

  3. Tell them you still have skunks in your yard.

  4. politely decline. very forward of them to expect from you
