Is it rude to donate my left over candy canes to the homeless shelters?

I have all these candy canes and christmas cookies left over from all my family and friends. I need to lose a few pounds, and was thinking of donating these goodies to the less fortunate. is it rude to give them these holiday leftovers?I dont want torub it in their faces that they had a terrible christmas in the homeless shelter with cockroaches while i had a lovely christmas in my huge house surrounded by family and friends. I dont want to rub it in their faces.....is it rude to donate my holiday leftovers to the homeless shelter down town?

no, the homeless shelters can always use anything.

including goodies, they will be thankful.

I don't think it would be rude - you're trying to do something nice for people who are less fortunate and wouldn't use them because you wish to lose weight.  I think anyone in a homeless shelter would be happy to get goodies rather than let them go to waste.

A person with integrity wouldn't need to ask such a question! Update... Do unto others as you would have them do unto you so in case you and everyone else still don't get the message, if i'm not mistaken; we give our leftovers to our dogs!

I don't think it would be rude but I would not give cookies that have been opened!

I wouldn't even take it to the shelter the employees get first pick so the homeless would be lucky to get a half sucked on candy cane. I would just take it to the corner and drop it off. You are such a wonderful giving sole!

I would throw it away rather than give it to those freeloaders. Most of them are professional homeless, meaning that they make so much money begging they live better than those of us with full time jobs.
