  1. well I always did whatever they did.

but your supposed to hand them their change.

many Indian people will avoid touching your hands but others are just germ freaks.

you should always "try" to be nice and smile no matter how crappy they treat you.

I think it's what I call the trickle down theory.

their wife yells at them, their boss yells at them so by the time they get to you they figure it's ok to treat you like sh*t.

It's not like they don't like you they just figure they can be rude to you and not get any feedback.

I worked near a beach, you should have seen the wet and sandy money we'd get, hang it up like a laundry line.

  2. "i dont feel i have to provide good cs".  I'm sure your employer would be happy to hear that.

  3. I am an old guy so I will tell you how it used to be.  Back before electronic cash registers that told you the change due, you actually had to figure it out.  In order for the customer to realize  he was getting the correct change the cashier would count it out in the hand of the customer.  It is just common  courtesy to hand the change or card to the customer.  Unfortunately, good manners seem to have faded some.  Don't cop an attitude and become one of the uncouth masses.

  4. Sorry you had such a bad day.....But everyone is different. Some people don't want you to touch them and some people don't want their money thrown on the counter. Personal preference.

Just do the best you can to be polite and do your job. That's really all you can do.

  5. Whenever I worked with money, I would show the customer the same level of courtesy they showed me. If they handed me money, I handed them their change. If they put it down on the table, I did the same to them.

Occasionally you get the odd person that doesn't let go of their money or slams it down. Do the same back to them, in a joking way of course.

  6. yes it is rude.

No matter the customers attitude you should always hand them their card and change. Actually you should be counting out the change to them.

  7. i start off nice and friendly, but if they rub the the wrong way, i conveniently forget to say have a great day!

so i agree, some people just arent worth it being nice to.....they expect 5 star service and act like S**t so i say bump that!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Not in my opinion.

um wow, you thought that out well.

  9. Don't be a jerk like them put it in their hand. Not every customer is like that.

  10. you are getting paid to provide good customer service no matter how YOU are treated!  Yes it may be rude, but that does not change the fact that your JOB is to provide good customer service, period!  You are not there to punish customers if they don't treat you like you think you should be treated!  You are there to SERVE THE CUSTOMER!  If you don't like your job, you are free to find another!  To answer your last question, BECAUSE IT'S YOUR JOB!!!

  11. At the end of the day, you're paid to 'serve customers'. So you should do your job properly irrespective of how customers behave. Then at the end of the day you can go home knowing you did a good job.

Working in an airport you also have to allow for the fact that you will  come across people of different cultures (eg: some cultures consider the left hand to be unclean) so they may not behave in a way you're use to.

Don't let other peoples rude behaviour make you rude. They will just look silly when you respond with good manners.

  12. Thats is extremly rude behavior for a customer or employee to pratice..... always give a customer there money in there hand even if there as rude as ever.......never throw there stuff on the counter.....even sometimes they deserve it lol.

  13. well, i use to pay the cashier by putting the money down on the counter or table or w.e but my aunt told me once that is rude that the right way is to put it on the cashiers hand. then i started noticing that no wonder cashiers always put the change and receipt on my hand!!! i thought they must have gotten trained and taught to do it that way.

i think you should keep handing it instead of putting it on the table. you dont know it but they might think about it later and think "dam i was rude that cashier was polite"

  14. i do that sometimes.. i dont mean to do it, but sometimes i lay it down while the cashier is doing something and i lost $100 out of my purse a few months back, and sometimes i will lay money on the counter just so i can close my wallet and stick it back in my purse, so i wont lose any more money!! lol..  but i hate doing that...

but maybe where you work in an airport, people are tired and have jetlag and they dont think right.. ;)

but anyways.. its your job and the crappy part about it, you have to deal with the public.. and sometimes thats a bad thing!! i know i couldnt do it...

  15. depends:

i like my money down because it makes me more comfortable cause i know im not going to drop it but some people dont want to slide there money off the counter. But i DONT think its rude.
