Is it safe and how do i know?????

so im 37 weeks pregnant when i went to the doctors on friday she told me that i was 2 cm dialated and 75 % efaced now im scared to be intimate with my husband for fear i might go into labor is it safe for me to have intercourse or should i give it up? Another thing is how do i know im in labor obviously there will be pain but my best friend said she was in pain and they told her she wasnt ready to be admitted in the hospital is there something in specific to look for because i dont wnat to be halfway to the hospital and im having a baby! Thanks for all your advice

Why don't you want to go into labor? Doctors actually advise you to have intercourse to start labor, after all 37 weeks is full term already. Unfortunately it is not easy to tell how long will your labor be, but it is absolutely safe to have your baby now and s*x is safe unless otherwise directed by your doctor for any specific reason.

At 37 weeks you are now considered full-term.  If you were to go into labour now, your baby is going to be totally fine.

Go ahead and be intimate with your husband... you might not be able to for quite awhile.

You will know when you're in labour... I promise.  When your contractions are 5 minutes apart head to the hospital.

Yes s*x is o.k. as long you are on yor hands and knees so as not to put pressure on the unborn child. I have a friend that the doctor told him having s*x actually induced labor by opening her up and making delivery easier.

As for the pains, there is something called false labor that is quite common. Since this is your first, you are most likely to be in labor a while. My second wife was in labor for 17 hours.

It is fine if you were to go into labor now and intercourse may even help you go into labor, I went into labor six hours afterwards and was 12 days early and had a healthy baby girl 10 pounds even. So I say go for and enjoy remember after the baby gets here you should wait 6 weeks, that's a long time to go without.  Have fun and good luck
