I saw the attack on the consulate in Istanbul on the news, it is terrible! Do Turks hate Americans? The report said that a few years ago there was an attack on the British consulate, a British bank and 2 synagogues! Are these attacks connected? My family and I are going to Turkey next week, my father's company moved us from a beach house to a hotel so we would be safer. We are going to the city of Belek in the state of Antalya, the hotel is Calista. Is it safe for Americans there? I am worried.

P.S. We are Jewish too! But we won't go to any synagogues.

  1. Yes, so as for everybody else... Enjoy!

  2. No, we don't need you here with that negative attitude - stay in Yankland.

  3. Do you think it is safe to give all your information except your room number, here on the net.

You know what? I dont believe you.

  4. Yes.

Just don't act like an ugly American.

Keep a low profile and mind your own business.

  5. You are safe in Turkey.

That attack was an isolated incident. The media is scaring you.

I don't know the hotel you mentioned but I am sure you will feel very safe there, you will forget you were ever afraid.

Americans are as safe as Chinese, Brazilians or Italians, all nationalities are safe in Turkey. No one will ask your religion and no one will care if they knew.

I wonder if the people answering you rudely here are even Turkish. I can understand you. You saw on the news that the US consulate was attacked and you thought that you might be a target too. But this is not the case. You'll be safe and you'll love Turkey. You'll be asking your father to take you back every summer.

  6. 27 millions foreign tourists came to turkey last year.you have fair chance with them if a bad event come true.1/27000000 ...is usa more secure?.and also americans never died....always turks died for americans.you can search for it.in consulate attack, three police officer died not americans.belek is holiday place.7 million tourists come to antalya every year(belek is a town in antalya).i have never heard a bad event in belek.its a small town not big as istanbul.noone know u as a jew here.you are just americans as 300000-500000 americans come here every year.

  8. Don't worry, you will be fine, and everything is going to be ok...

PS : Some Americans, Brits and other foreigners will answer your question... Don't close your question immediately...They all love Turkey, and so you will...

  9. Don't come! we will make you shish-kebab. :)

I know some of  you act like we are beasts in your country, but you will be delighted of Turkish friendliness in Turkey.

It is safer than your Israel for sure. I can also say it is safer than American traffic. Chances being attacked in Turkey are lower than getting killed by a Greek driver in USA. Actually this is not a joke. One of them almost killed my wife, who is an American.

For the sake of info; those attacks made by Kurdish Pkk terrorists (or old Pkk terrorists) who gets supported by Israel to create a satellite country for Israel against Iran. I don't know how their brain works but they hurt people just to hurt people no matter what their purpose is.

  10. American Consulate attack wasn't against USA, actually against Turkish police.. You ask that if Turkish people hate Usa or not,  let me explain. If you were a policeman and your duty is at (inside) USA consulate, you are shot by terrorists and run away towards the the door, howerer Americans don't open the building entrance...  Would you love or hate Americans?

But don't be afraid.. Nobody behaves you bad here. Here is much more secure than USA..

  11. I don't hate Americans but I dislike the American government. Yes it is safe for Americans in Turkey.
