  1. Of course.

It is a lot more civilized than many major cities in the US.

Stay in Recoleta or Puerto Madero neighborhoods, those are the best.

  2. Sure, been there 4 times as a single woman and 3 times as a married woman (but travelled alone for work) and NEVER had any problem. Try and stay in Puerto Madero, Recoleta has been a bit isolated at night and most hotels and restaurants have closed recently. It;s a nice area but I Prefer Puerto Madero. Palermo Hollywood is another area which is becoming popular amongst young adults. I;ve taken the subway (not recommended), taxis, buses and the inner city train which I highly recommend. Have walked alone, never had any problem. Of course there are muggers like in any other city in the world but you just take care and it will be ok.

  3. it is as safe as it would be  if you were in Chicago,NYC, LA,  & a whole lot safer than if you were in Paris, Madrid,Rome ,London or Athens, all of which I have been to. I love Buenos Aires, have never felt threatned, have been to the famous cemetery,to many restaraunts that the average Argentian would frequent, shopped,& look e looed al over the city. Your behaviour dictates your level of safety, blend in ,stay out of areas that are deemed crime ridden, Recoleta is great & you will find many helpful people that will advise you. Buenos Aires is a most lovely, warm & comfortable place to be. How you choose to dress, speak & act are the key to your safe enjoyment, what would you do at home ? Take your cue from that & enjoy a most fascinating  place to be .
