Is it safe for bearded dragons to eat beetles?

i was just wondering if it is safe for bearded dragons to eat beetles (the ones that meal-worms turn in to) thanks

I think most insects are safe. Most insects are safe for humans to eat too.....slurp.

They are safe in the fact that eating one won't cause death - BUT they are something that you really don't want to feed very often.

They aren't nutritious, they have a very hard and thick shell and they do contain a very mild toxin to try and deter animals from eating them.

My beardie seemed to love beetles, but only feed them 5 per year i guess.

where bearded dragons come from in the desert they eat nothing but beetles as there are only insects there
