Is it safe for me to get micro braids?

I had my hair relaxed last week on Friday. School is coming up in a week and I'm wondering if it's safe for me to get my hair braided soon.

I don't know if I should... My mom thinks it's okay and I have no other choice.

You could..like this Friday...but braid take out some of your hair no matter what and micro-braids are especially known to take out sides (i.e. side baldness which is not attractive.) So if you get them done get then about2-3 days before school starts so you hair can have a break and you can get used to have the braid. But make sure it is done by a professional who know what they're doing! good luck and have a good day at school!

yes, it can be safe.  You first need to find a hair braider that will not pull so tight that you have hair pop from the cuticle. Don't be afraid to hold a mirror and check to see that she is not pulling unnecessarily.  My two small girls wore braids (micro and other) the entire school year with No problems.  I've worn tthem too with no problems.  If you see your hair is comingout or getting thinner discontinue braiding.  ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS keep your hair moisturized and healthy.

Absolutely not.! You should NEVER braid or get a weave done with relaxed hair. You have to grow out the relaxed hair first. Or it will most likely fall out or break off. Leaving you with short and severely damaged hair.
