Is it safe for my 3 year-old to be around a puppy without her shots?

My husband was given a puppy but, she hasn't received her shots yet. So I'm worried he can get sick from her. She seems fine though. She is about 3-4 months.

another thing she can get is some of the worms that the dog may have. so you definitely want to get her de-wormed. my vet told me to make sure my girls wash their hands after touching the puppy. kinda hard, but you don't want your baby getting a parasite.

also if the puppy doesn't get her shots, she can get parvo and die. thats very serious, get the shots as soon as you can.

The puppy should have been seen by a vet before she was given to your husband.  The puppy needs to go to the vet now.

Get her shots ASAP, and ask the vet.

There are few diseases that are transmitted from dogs to humans, rabies being an obvious one.  You probably have nothing to worry about, but ask the vet when you make that appointment.
