Hey I'm 13 and I really want to go to the gym to get fit but my dad always say you're too young if you go to the gym your gonna stay the same height or w/e.

Also do you know a good exercise to slim your thighs?

  1. You don't really need a gym to work out. Sit ups, jogging, push ups (I don't know if girls do push ups :p), you can do all of that at home. You can do squats for your thighs.

  2. Most high school athletics programs don't allow students to start weight lifting until they are in 10th grade (about 15 years old).  When we first go into puberty our bodies begin adding muscle mass in various places depending on if we are male or female.  We don't want to interfere with what nature has been doing long before we invented gyms.  Once the body is finished, we can supplement and build on that.  13, is too young.  In a couple of years, OK.  Not because it will stunt your growth but because it will increase the risk of injury...every ones bodies develop at different rates and areas of each person's body develop at different rates as well.  For your thighs, you can tone them by doing forward lunges and squats (no weight, just in your room or something).  Stretching also helps with toning and slimming.

  3. well i dont think ur too young to go to the gym and try leg presses
