dont forguet answer for plazuela del zacate because you must to know the micheladas and cubanas ( they are beer ) ok? and enjoy your travel to my mexico.

  3. Cuernavaca is one of the safest town in Mexico.  I've been there twice for a month each for Spanish school an had a great time

  4. I went there two years ago and I found it to be safe.  You should take the radio taxis (the ones with the antenna) only and be sure to negotiate the price of the cab before you get in.  It's very hilly there and not easy to walk around in.  It is a little spread out.  Be sure to eat at Las Mananitas it's delicious - dress up though.  If you're studying Spanish you are probably staying with a host family and they should be able to help you.  I'm sure the school will have an orientation session to explain everything.  Use your common sense, be polite and dress appropriately.  There is poverty there the same as everywhere else but there are also very sweet and lovely people.  Have a great time!

  5. I once spent three months studying Spanish in Cuernavaca during a semester of study abroad, and later returned for  two weeks of Spanish "refresher" at the same language school. Cuernavaca is a rather safe city where you should be fine as long as you take reasonable precautions. As others have stated it is most advisable to take radio taxis at night that are arranged to pick you up by telephone, and it is best not to walk alone at night by yourself. (Although to be honest I have done it). Cuernavaca is a rather middle to upper middle class city by Mexican standards, and you will also see alot of weekenders from Mexico City driving around town as well. You will have a great time in Cuernavaca--be safe, of course, but don't make that the number one preocupation. Mexico has a lot of great people and culture to experience if you simply embrace the chance. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Oh yeah...Las Mananitas is a neat place...I met someone who worked there and he gave me a personal tour. I never actually ate there myself, but I am sure from what I saw of the place that to do so would surely be to dine in style!
