  1. Its safe yeah.

but i would have like a brother or a guy cousin..some one that is a guy with you because its best to have a male person with you (best if its a family member)

  2. its not that safe. my spanish teacher went there and got mugged by 12 year old gypsies. he lost all his money and his passport

  3. Yes it is, This question has been asked over literally 1,000 times yet people never cease to ask it and look at the resolved questions, Sharm el Sheik is one of the most touristic places in Egypt, hundreds of thousands of tourists visit it every year, and belive me it's more safer than your average city, People can normally walk after midnight in the streets without any fear, It's because the city is so alive all the time before and after nightfall, I hope you have fun there, good luck!

If you have any questions don't hesitate to mail me.

  4. Women, particularly foreign women, are frequently subject to unpleasant male attention, sexual harassment, and verbal abuse. This often takes the form of staring, inappropriate remarks, catcalls, and touching. The Department publishes a booklet entitled Her Own Way: A Woman’s Guide to Safe and Successful Travel. Its prime objective is to inform Canadian women and encourage them to travel safely.

    Forced Marriages

There are reports of female Canadian citizens being forced into marriage without their prior knowledge or consent. Parents, relatives and the community may use relentless pressure and emotional blackmail, threatening behaviour, abduction, imprisonment and physical violence to coerce young people to enter into marriage. While both men and women experience forced marriages, it is a form of violence most commonly perpetrated against women. They have been unable to return to Canada, and their passports and money have been retained by family members. Canada opposes the practice of forced marriage and urges all countries and regions to respect their international human rights obligations relating to free and full consent to marriage. Forced marriage constitutes a human rights violation under several legal instruments, including international human rights law, to which Canada is a signatory. If you are in Canada and you believe that you are being forced to travel overseas or to marry, you should contact provincial social welfare authorities and your local police. You may also contact the Emergency Operations Centre (tel.: 1-800-267-6788) or the nearest Canadian government office (see Section 5 above).

  5. It is relatively safe, but I will not thumb Natasha down

  6. yep

  7. Well I would definately would not reccoment to take diving tours, a lot of people drowned there, because their equipment was old  and unreliable.

I'm from Russia and Sharm El Sheik is one of the most popular places among Russian tourists. I heard a lof of negative and frankly horrifying stories about diving in Egypt.Plus I have been there myself twice and know what I'm talking about. The other dangerous thing is Egyptian drivers, they drive like maniacs and a lot of tourists buses got into deadly accidets because of that.

I don't want to scare you away, but you should seriously consider that.

Other the that, the sea is wonderful and cristal clear. Snorkeling in fantastic over there!

  8. Have no fears. Egypt is safer than most other countries around the world. Many tourists who visit Egypt say that they feel safer than in their own country and wish to repeat the visit some time in the future.

  9. in sharm sheikh i think you mean this,it is so safe u can go but do not go any where else like Cairo do not believe any liar who says Egypt is safe it is terrible here in Egypt.but for sharm sheikh the security is more than excellent so don't worry....

  10. Sharm is the safest tourist place i know. i am married to an Egyptian i met there and have been there many times.

the people are friendly and go out of their way to help you. they put the Brits to shame with their politeness and helpful attitude.

i have walked down dark streets alone and have come to no harm.

dont listen to Bb080.............  i haven't seen a single gypsy there, and its not the first time he has been on here slagging off Egypt.

And as for the deaths during diving, i'd take that with a pinch of salt. She says she knows what she is talking about as she has been there twice, well ive been a lot more times and have heard nothing like that. You will, though, when you go there, realise that the Russians are the biggest complainers there. If anything would put me off going there it would be them. They have no manners, dont even reply to a friendly "hello" you give them. The Egyptians dont like them although they are polite to them. i have seen the way the russians speak to them and i was disgusted.

you go diving and enjoy it. the diving clubs are run by very experienced people. and they dont let you dive until they give you enough lessons to make sure you know what you are doing. and even then you are only in about 12 meters of water.

i snorkelled and it was great.

there is also so much to do there. camel hikes,  jeep safaris, aqua park, swimming with dolphins, and so much more.

i guarantee you will want to go back. I fell in love with Egypt the first time i was ever out there. It's a fascinating country and i feel at peace when i am there. After my husband moves here we will continue to go there as i dont ever want to be away too long from the country.

Sharm is my second home, and i feel i know it like the back of my hand now.

    enjoy yourselves.

JABEER.....are you answering the same question as the rest of us.

what has this got to do with Canadian women.

and i have never seen or heard of any women being sexually harrassed by egyptian men. yes they stare, but what is sexual about that.  they are just amazed by women with blond hair and the fashion.

and all those things you said the men are supposed to do, happens in every country.

  11. Egypt is safe safe safe safe safe

    welcome to egypt :)

  12. ive been there  its nice and it is safe if you watch what you are doing ( be aware) maybe you should go to WHs and buy a book on egypt  it should tell you places to go and stuff like that ( so you dont get lost looking for things)

shamel sheik is one of the tourist areas so it should be safe

certain areas are safer than others

    shamel sheik is safe

  13. NOOOOOOOO

  14. Sharm El Sheikh is one of the safest cities in the world .

you can go with your sister and enjoy being out after midnight without any doubts or fears .

by the way, we dont have Gypsies !

there are shuttle buses from and to hotels .

there are taxis and micro buses to take you around .

drink bottled water and brush your teeth with it .

apply sunblock to the exposed parts of your body .

these are the only pre-cautions to remember .

    enjoy the vaccation.
