Is it safe to put air freshener in my baby's room all day long? My baby's room stinks because it's also the room for changing diapers. To get rid of the smell we have to use air freshener all day long, is it safe? If not what's the alternative solution?

  1. I wouldn't put all those chemicals in the baby's room.  Why does it stink so bad?  My son's room is also used for changing diapers, but it doesn't smell.  Maybe you need to change the trash more often or use a different disposal system.  We're different too, since we use cloth diapers, but still..

  2. Open the window, use a fan, or change the diapers in the bathroom.  Chemicals are not a good alternative in my opinion.  Good luck :)

  3. it could be a bad thing, thats alot of chemicals for a baby. especially if you do that alot of times during the day

  4. I just went out and bought a glade-plug-in night light for my son; but he's 1 yr. old .. I'm not sure how old your baby is?

  5. Don't use chemacals in my opinion.

I would use a natural air freshner.

  6. Switch to a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers.  Totally unscented little purple cube that doesn't use sprays and chemicals.  Just put a few around room and hang onto diaper pail.  Really works great.  can get it at www.innofresh.com

  7. im with the last answer the diaper genie is great...also you could try a more natural odor absorber of baking soda.. if you dont want to get the genie they have bags at walmart with the baby stuff that are baby powder scented that you can put the bad ones in they are like four dollars for fifty though which can add up fast.

  8. why dont you use a diapers genie or start throwing the diapers outside in the trash can right after you take it off! saves you money and the smell!

  9. I would not use any type of air freshener in a baby's room to may chemicals in them.

I also changed my twins diapers in there room and never had a problem with the smell.  I never left the diapers in there room they always went into the main trash can in the house and poohing ones got wrapped up in a old plastic bag.  The other thing I am wondering about is has the baby wet through when it was sleeping and maybe the sheets need washed.  I know when mine wet through at night (even a little) I always had to wash the sheets or there would be a awfull smell.

  10. I would not do that.  You don't know if the scent will bother him.  It could irritate his throat &/or lungs.  He may find the scent unpleasant which could cause him to be cranky & not sleep well.  We throw poopy diapers in a big garbage can w/ a lid outside our back door.  Or you could tie them in a sack, then throw it in a garbage can w/ a lid in your house.

  11. I would avoid that. What about using a diaper Genie instead?
