  1. Try Murphy's Oil Soap if your walls are not stone or brick... actually it might work on those also...


  2. Yeah, but you may not enjoy the smoke smell, which could give you a headache after a while, to be more comfertable I would check to see if you could stay in a friends house or a hotel while you get "professionals" to clean up the smoke mess.

  3. open all the windows and doors. get a vacume cleaner with a brush attachment and vacume ceilings and walls and everything else before attempting to wipe down. I had a kitchen fire last year and as long as there is no smoke it's ok.They have a product called smoke eliminator at home depot to help with the smell. Good luck.

  5. yes it is safe.you will just have to clean the walls and all the soot off of everything.i had had a fire once and that is what i had to do it took allot of cleaning but it had to be done good luck.

  6. yes, soot is the same as fireplace charcoal.  It is unburned material.  Greasy but harmless.
