Is it safe to buy electrical goods online from china?

i want to buy a 32inch tv and ps3 online and i was wondering if the would work in ireland.

hi, im irish too and if your talking about the chinese items on ebay.ie then i would have to say from personal experience SCAM!

and even if they were legit, it would cost a small fortune to ship from china, and ontop of that; the plugs and voltage would be different (this is very important, because it's not as easy as just getting a new plug on it) the ps3 would be in Mandarin or cantonese and prob would not play irish games (the blu-ray player may also have a different region code), and no warranty, sorry to rain on your parade! just keepin' it real, lol
