Is it safe to color my hair after getting a perm?

My hair is an extremely dark brown (almost black). I want to get reddish-brown highlights. Want do you think. And if not I need some cute hairstyles for straight hair that's 4in below my shoulders. No bangs.

Be sure to disscuss it with your stylist (if you're using one). But normally it's ok to color 24-48 hrs after a perm.  Be sure you have some good conditioner because your hair will get dry.

if u have african american hair highlights is the best way to really mess it up. with all the bleaching and crazy behind chemicals its bad enough we perm our hair.  black women look better anyway with dark hair w/out the highlights. but if u really want to... wait atleast a week. to be safe. I would strongly suggest not to color your hair any time soon, I would wait a long time because the perm already burns the hair quite a bit. When I was younger I use to color my hair and one day I got a perm too, it took me 2 years to recover from it. Now I don't color my hair or perm it and it's sooo much healthier. Good luck! If you wanna do it anyway be careful and hydrate your hair very well after it.

No! Do not color ur hair after getiing a perm, it will fall out. u have to wait a while before you can color ur hair.

OMG NOOOO if you have just gotten a relaxer/perm (w/e you wanna call it) do not get your hair highlighted. relaxers already damage your hair shaft, and to strip more essentials from your hair will distress your hair; it will become brittle and snap off in pieces. Black/african american) hair already has a sensitive hair shaft, so the best thing is to add things to protect it. I don't know how your strong your hair is, or what cycle it is in, so you should ask a licensed beautician who specializes in African-American hair.

I personally would wait like 3 weeks or so after gettin a perm b4 i got color  bcuz all those chemicals could break ur hair out.
