Is it safe to delete .tmp files ?

I'm trying to clean up my Laptop I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition If its easier to explain it on Messenger I have YahooMessengerr my ID = monkeydudle101 or jerm_124 Thanks

  1. .tmp files are just temporary files so if you delete them you will not harm your computer.  These files usually are things that you downloaded off the internet, including your history, temporary internet files, and actual downloads.  Deleting them periodically is a good idea, but I would recommend restarting your computer or telling your internet browser to delete them as this will automatically delete all your temporary files.


  2. They are only there for the use of things such as: downloading, installing software, viewing internet content, and updates.

    They are only needed once for above purposes.  That's why they are temporary. :-D
