Is it safe to download custom sims from the sims 2 website?

i want a hairstyle on this sim a user made, is it safe to download her, and also, can i use her hair on other sims, or just her. please help !

I've downloaded many "skins" from the Sims 2 website.  I never had any problems...I ended up downloading most of the celebrity skins on the website so I had a lot of celebrities running around.  :)

I've read that it could cause problems with the game (crashing mostly).  If you notice problems, you could just delete the files from the source folder.

You can use the hair on every Sim you create, and it is very safe to download things, I download about ten things a day and my game runs fine. Just make sure your expansion packs are compatible with whatever you're downloading.

You should be able to use the hair on other sims too. Sometimes downloading things from the sims 2 website causes the game to freeze and go slower than usual though. Other than that it should be fine.
