Is it safe to drink water from the washroom tap?

It seems okay, it's not like the water is from the toilet.

Tap water is tap water! I would never drink from the toliet.But myself I drink only purified water from my kitchen.

It's OK if it's from your own house.  Public sinks are nasty.

Yes it is safe & clean.  

Wash your hands first, cup them together & fill your cupped hands up with water.  

Drink & enjoy.
