Is it safe to drive without the anti-rattle clip on the front brakes?

I had a squeaking noise coming from the right wheel, and it is from a broken, or rather bent, anti-rattle clip. Can I drive for a while without that piece?

  1. The anti-rattle clip is just that - an anti-rattle clip.

It is not an integral or supporting part of the brake system - the pads are held in place with or without them - albeit somewhat nosier.

  2. just turn the radio up

    ya wont hear it rattle

  3. It is safe, - but I may make a little noise (or it may not), - depends on how tight it fits in caliper frame! I have worked on and driven cars of my own with the clips missing because of being damaged of lost somewhere. And many make no more noise than ones with the clips in place!

  4. You want have any problems with out the anti - rattle clip , just make sure you tighten the bolts -up that holds the pads and caliper in place.
