  1. im not sure its BAD as much as it's not wise....... the cap is there for a reason and i think that you should get a new one if it  borke or put it on when your done gettin gas...!!!

    GL!!!!!!!!!!

  2. It is a fire hazard to have no cap, some one only needs to throw a cig out of there window and you could be on fire. so replace the cap as soon as possible.

  3. If it was safe they would not bother putting one on the car.

On top of that it will trigger the computer to report an error.

No more then a gas cap costs, just stop and buy one.

  4. yes

  5. Gas caps keep gasoline fumes from escaping. Therefore, if you don't have one, you are losing gas in the form of fumes. Can you really afford to be letting your gas evaporate, when you could just replace it for ~$7?

  6. Depending on the model of car you drive, it's probably safe to drive without it, but it will probably make your "Check Engine" light come on and may hurt your gas mileage. I would drive without it, but only to the nearest auto parts store to buy a new one.

  7. wont hurt anything but, but i think it does affect the pressure in the tank and might cause a check engine light........they arent expensive to replace.........might try a junk yard if your strapped for cash

  8. No it's not. Get a proper replacement now. In fact some newer cars will not even run properly with a lose gas cap let alone without one.
