They say not to do it when you're pregnant, but is it okay when just breastfeeding?

  1. Maybe you need to look into some natural ways to dye your hair without chemicals until you are ready to stop breast feeding. For instance: the shells off black walnuts used to be soaked and the water used to dye hair, way back when. You can look up stuff like that in herbals.

  2. It is okay to dye your hair while pregnant. It is okay to dye your hair while breastfeeding. I asked my doctors about this the first time I was pregnant, and the only worry they have is during the first trimester of pregnancy.

  3. it depends on what product you will be using. It could result in a scalp condition, meaning bumps or scabs on you head because of the hormones in your body. Ask your doctor, and ask your hairstylist first. Do not do it yourself! Id go to a professional.

  4. They've found no solid proof about hair dye and pregnancy or breastfeeding, either for or against it. As of now, they just say not to do it because it -may- do harm.

I've known people who dye their hair throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding without problems, but if you feel uncomfortable, use dyes without metals. Hennas and other natural dyes are typically agreed upon to be completely safe.
