Is it safe to eat tomatoes?

Like 150 people died because of them and I love them sooo much, I want to eat one, but I have eaten 3 in the last 2 days and I am wondering if I am going to get sick

the outbreak was not caused by the tomatos if you do your research, it was peppers in a specific salsa.

the last I heard was they linked the salmonella outbreak to jalapeno peppers, not tomatoes.

Of course it's safe. I live in Jamaica and i eat tomatoes everyday of ma life. and nothing has been wrong with me because of them.

There was a risk in eating tomatoes because of salmonella, but they have now ruled hat it is in jalapenos instead.

Are you talking about the people who got salmonella i think it was from eatting tomatoes? I haven't heard anything about this lately. It should be safe if you wash them good, or cook them.

I would recomend growing your own. that way you can save money and also know they are safe.

There was never a problem with any tomatoes!

It turned out to be Jalapeno peppers from a farm in Mexico.

Yes. Its safe to eat tomatoes. They found out that it wasn't the tomatoes that cuased the three individuals to become sick. So go ahead and much away!

Tomatoes have not been cleared completely but any for sale in your stores are safe.  Any you grow in your garden are safe.  Actually they think the outbreak was from jalapeno and Serrano peppers.  You could have been eating any tomato you bought in a store with in a week of the announcements.  The stores got rid of any chance of contamination for fear of lawsuits.

the fda has already cleared that tomatoes are safe to eat. they now believe that peppers were what made people sick. just wash your vegetables and enjoy your tomatoes.

Its safe to eat the tomatoes. They are reporting on the news channels and on MSN that jalapeños are to blame.

Tomatoes were ruled out as the cause of salmonella that made a lot of people sick. The illness is now linked to jalapeno and serrano peppers grown in Mexico. The people who got sick all ate salsa which lead to the belief that tomatoes were the cause, but upon further investigation it was found that it was the chilies.

Actually the FDA has stated that it was not the tomatoes that was making everyone sick - it was jalepeno peppers that were used in the food and everyone thought it was the tomatoes.  

Also, they already took the ban off tomatoes a few weeks ago - so eat up and enjoy.!!
