Is it safe to get a slim ps2 modded so that it plays copied games?

no it doesnt.  It does void you're warranty and as far as system integrity... well that has to do with how careful the person doing the mod is.

It's OK. I had a modded PS2 for a long time. One thing - if it's on warranty - you'll lose it.

i would imagine that it wouldnt burn up and set alight.

if youre askign this from a "would i get caught" angle then probably not, since the playstation 2 isnt online, unlike the xbox 360.

Well to correct the other guy yes you can go online with the ps2. But a bunch of consumer don't choose to go online. Anyways it safe to buy a modded ps2 console but remember if something was to happen to the console you WOULD NOT  be able to contact sony and ask for help for 2 reason. The first is because it modded. The second once the console is open the console is void of warranty and sony won't touch it. There is a safer way to play burn game it call swap magic it does the same as a modded ps2 but the difference it a disc that allow your console to read burn games. Anyways when making game make sure to use dvd-r and for sports game like football basketball etc use dvd+r
